Exterior

The detailing of the Genesis’ chrome front grille, mouldings and door handles further accentuates its impeccable design.
The 2009 Genesis will be offered in two distinct trim levels, the 3.8 and 4.6
With available 18” alloy wheels and a noticeably wide stance, the Genesis’ styling maximizes its rear-wheel drive capabilities.
Help keep your mirrors out of harm’s way when parked on the street or in narrow spaces with folding side mirrors. They’re also heated to stay clear in cold weather, and have integrated turn signals for increased visibility.
The proximity key senses when you’re near the car, allowing you to lock and unlock the doors, as well as start the engine without ever removing the key from your pocket.
Mounted behind the rearview mirror are infrared lights and sensors. A beam is directed toward the windshield, then reflected back to the sensor. When rain hits the windshield, it interrupts the light beam, which activates the rain sensing wipers.

Like other great performance sedans, the Genesis is equipped with RWD. RWD helps balance the force of traction and acceleration on the tires – the front tires are used for cornering traction while the rear tires are used for the acceleration loads.
The 2009 Genesis 3.8 features an advanced all-aluminum Dual CVVT V6 engine with DOHC and an estimated 290 horsepower, 6 speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic™

The Genesis is also optionally equipped with eight ultrasonic sensors located on the front and rear bumpers. Accompanied by an audible warning tone, this feature ensures safety when manoeuvring into tight parking spots (standard with 3.8L Prem. and Tech.

An electronic active head restraint system will debut on the 2009 Hyundai Genesis. Hyundai is the first popular brand to offer electronic active front head restraints, an improvement over mechanically based active head restraint systems.
Equipped with eight airbags – front dual advanced, two front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, two roof-mounted side-curtain airbags and two rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags – the Genesis surrounds its occupants in protection.
